Paul Shipman has an appetite for adventure — in more ways than one.
The Windsor Park resident has released his first book titled Feast on Adventure: A guide to lightweight, scrumptious meals for the outdoor enthusiast. Just add water. Scenic views optional. The book is published by Friesen Press.
Shipman is passionate about food, cooking, exploring the outdoors with his family, and sharing his experiences and expertise with others. As it turns out, these turned to out to be key ingredients when it came to the computer engineer — who is a Paddle Canada instructor and a trip leader — deciding to write the book.
Since the start of the pandemic, more and more people have started to embrace nature and explore the outdoors, and many individuals have had to pivot how they spend their leisure time. Shipman said one thing some rookie adventurers might be unsure about is how to manage meals without the modern conveniences of their kitchens to hand. That’s one of the reasons he decided to write Feast on Adventure.
